4. This person, who is the head of the Bostancı corps, is responsible for the gardens and orchards in the Ottoman Palace. He is also responsible for other works such as the defense of the Marmara and Bosphorus coasts, and taking care of the boats belonging to the palace. The greatest chief of the Bostancıs was called Bostancı Başı. He held the helm of the sultan's boat. Bostancı Başı had the 'Bostancı Başı' notebook in his hand. In these notebooks, it was recorded to whom the mansions on the shores of Istanbul belonged. One of his primary duties was the palace guard.
